Tempus Fugit, Mama
For Mother's Day this year (it's next Sunday, May 11 in case you didn't get your engraved invitation yet), I asked my husband for three gifts. Forget diamonds, long-stemmed roses, and even gourmet chocolate; what I want (and I suspect you do, too, if you're a mom) is time. Three kinds:
- Time for luxury: A few hours to myself to do whatever I please, alone--whether it's read the newspaper uninterrupted, go for a long walk, or even take myself to a movie.
- Time for productivity: Someone to clean my car, inside and out. Everytime I see the pretzel crumbs, tiny bits of paper, and other debris that litters the floors, it drives me crazy, but I never take the time to empty everything out and vacuum. Being able to cross one thing off my to-do list without actually having to do it myself would be a valuable prize.
- Time for memory: Several weeks ago my daughter painted a particularly charming portrait on a visit to the art studio at our children's museum. I want it framed so I can display it prominently and preserve it for posterity.
What do you want for Mother's Day? If you have a blog, post your plea by Thursday, May 8, and let Parent Bloggers Network know about it. You'll be entered to win a Johnson's Mom and Baby product gift basket, plus $25 to donate to any one of the charities Johnson's is supporting via its Baby Cause global charitable effort.

Thanks for the tip, Catherine! I may just get my Mother's Day post in under the wire for this deadline...
