It's National Library Week and the American Library Association has posted a series of funny PSAs on YouTube. This one about ridiculous reference-desk questions is my favorite, but there are lots of other clever ones.

Dirty Housewives Unite: Do you have one room, appliance, or area in your house that drives you crazy because it refuses to stay clean? Mrs. Chicken is standing ready to award you a prize for it!

Pie-Ku contest: The Washington Post is looking for your best pizza-themed haiku.

Outdoor kindergarten: I found this Wall Street Journal article via Reading Rockets, a books-and-reading related news feed that you can view on our site. Check it out--can you imagine sending your kids to kindergarten in the forest? Every single day?!

And last but far from least: Welcome, Joseph! Our Toddler Mom blogger, Maureen Ryan, is now the proud mom of both a toddler and a newborn. Congratulations!
